Our accessibility commitment
The Lackawanna County Library System is committed to providing accessible services, spaces, and digital experiences for everyone in our community. This website is designed, built, and continuously audited to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
The Lackawanna County Library System works to ensure that everyone — including people who use assistive technology — can find information and use services on this website. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Every change to this site runs an automated axe-core accessibility audit before it ships, and Lighthouse accessibility, performance, and SEO scores are reviewed by LCLS staff in the CMS dashboard. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we welcome feedback that helps us improve.
What we test
- Color contrast at AA thresholds (4.5:1 body text, 3:1 large text)
- Full keyboard navigation across every page
- Screen-reader compatibility — landmarks, headings, and form fields announced correctly
- Skip-to-content link on every page
- Visible focus indicators
- Descriptive image alt text on all meaningful images
- Programmatic labels on every form field
- Text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or function
Branch accessibility
